The device might either be an app on your phone or a physical device that is installed on the car. They are extremely easy to use – once you install the device, you never need to think about it again. Seems like a great way to save 20% or more on your insurance premium – right? Insurance monitoring devices measure a variety of metrics about your driving, including:

• Your mileage
• Where you are driving
• How often you brake and how hard you brake
• Your speed
• How often you quickly accelerate
